Bryan Burns, CPA serves as Manager and Fractional CFO with MB Accounting & Consulting Group, bringing a unique combination of public accounting, dealership audit experience, and corporate financial leadership to automotive businesses across the country. His background includes more than a decade of experience helping dealerships improve financial reporting, navigate accounting changes, strengthen forecasting processes, and make better operational decisions.
Throughout his career, Bryan has worked closely with Buy Here Pay Here (BHPH) and Lease Here Pay Here (LHPH) operators of all sizes, helping leadership teams gain greater financial visibility and improve overall business performance.
Bryan works directly with dealership owners, controllers, accounting departments, and management teams to improve financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, accounting processes, and operational visibility. His experience allows him to translate complex accounting information into practical business insight that dealership leaders can use to make informed decisions.
As part of the MB Accounting & Consulting Group leadership team, Bryan helps clients strengthen financial foundations while supporting long-term growth and profitability objectives.
Bryan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from Indiana University Indianapolis in 2011 before obtaining his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. He began his career in public accounting, where he spent nine years serving automotive and specialty finance clients through audit, financial reporting, and advisory engagements.
Most recently during his public accounting career, Bryan served as a Manager with Katz, Sapper & Miller (KSM), where he worked extensively with BHPH and LHPH dealerships throughout the United States. His responsibilities included financial statement audits, financial statement preparation, accounting consultations, and project-based advisory work designed to help dealership clients improve financial performance and reporting accuracy.
In 2021, Bryan joined MB Accounting & Consulting Group, bringing with him significant expertise in dealership accounting, audit processes, financial reporting, and strategic advisory services.
Throughout his public accounting career, Bryan worked with BHPH and LHPH dealerships across the country, providing audit and consulting services to organizations ranging from smaller independent operations to large multi-location dealer groups.
His experience gave him direct exposure to dealership accounting systems, portfolio reporting, revenue recognition, financial controls, forecasting, and operational performance metrics. Working with dealerships in a variety of markets and economic environments provided valuable insight into the financial challenges and opportunities unique to the automotive industry.
Bryan's understanding of dealership operations allows him to help clients improve reporting accuracy while developing financial processes that support stronger business decision-making.
In addition to his public accounting background, Bryan spent approximately eighteen months serving as Site Controller for a publicly traded manufacturing company. In this role, he gained valuable hands-on experience managing monthly financial close processes, budgeting activities, forecasting responsibilities, and operational financial reporting.
This corporate accounting experience expanded his perspective beyond auditing and advisory work, providing firsthand insight into the daily financial responsibilities faced by controllers and executive leadership teams.
Today, Bryan combines this operational experience with his public accounting expertise to help clients build stronger accounting systems and improve financial management practices.
One of Bryan's most valuable areas of expertise involves helping dealership organizations navigate changes in accounting standards and financial reporting requirements. During his time in public accounting, he assisted numerous dealership clients through evolving accounting regulations, including significant updates related to revenue recognition and credit loss methodologies.
His ability to simplify complex accounting concepts and apply them to real-world dealership operations helps clients maintain compliance while preserving meaningful financial reporting and operational visibility.
Bryan continues to work closely with dealership owners and accounting teams to improve reporting accuracy, strengthen internal processes, and build confidence in financial decision-making.
Bryan resides in Indianapolis, Indiana with his wife. Outside of his professional responsibilities, he remains passionate about helping dealership operators better understand their financial performance and leverage accurate reporting to build stronger businesses.
