Chad Martin, CPA is a Partner and Fractional CFO with MB Accounting & Consulting Group, bringing more than two decades of accounting, financial leadership, and dealership consulting experience to automotive businesses across the country. His unique background combines public accounting, dealership operations, executive financial leadership, and hands-on experience within both Buy Here Pay Here (BHPH) and Lease Here Pay Here (LHPH) organizations.
Today, Chad works directly with dealership owners, operators, and leadership teams to improve financial reporting, strengthen operational performance, evaluate portfolio profitability, and provide strategic guidance that supports long-term growth and financial success.
As a founding partner of MB Accounting & Consulting Group, Chad specializes in helping automotive businesses gain access to executive-level financial expertise without the cost of a full-time CFO. His work focuses on financial reporting, forecasting, portfolio analysis, operational consulting, mergers and acquisitions, dealership valuations, and strategic financial planning.
Having served in both dealership leadership and public accounting environments, Chad brings a practical perspective that helps bridge the gap between accounting data and real-world dealership operations.
Chad earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and obtained his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in 2003. He began his career in public accounting, spending five years preparing corporate audits, financial statements, and tax returns for a variety of businesses and industries.
Following his public accounting career, Chad spent fifteen years in corporate accounting leadership roles, including seven years working directly within the BHPH and LHPH dealership industry. During this time, he developed extensive expertise in dealership accounting, portfolio management, operational analysis, forecasting, and executive financial leadership.
His background includes serving as Controller for a BHPH organization managing approximately 8,500 customer accounts across 16 dealership locations. He later served as Chief Financial Officer for a dealership group managing more than 6,000 active accounts across both BHPH and LHPH portfolios.
Chad's dealership experience extends well beyond traditional accounting responsibilities. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with dealership owners, operators, lenders, auditors, investors, and management teams to evaluate financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
His experience includes portfolio valuation, credit performance analysis, dealership acquisitions, business valuations, forecasting, inventory performance, operational reporting, and financial management for both independent dealerships and specialty finance organizations.
Because Chad has operated inside dealership environments, he understands how accounting, collections, inventory, sales, financing, and operations all interact to influence profitability and long-term business health.
In late 2019, Chad founded Martin Consulting and Management, which later became MB Accounting & Consulting Group. His vision was to provide dealership owners with access to the same level of accounting, financial leadership, and strategic expertise typically available only to larger organizations.
Recognizing that many dealerships could benefit from CFO-level insight but could not justify hiring a full-time executive, Chad built MBAC around a flexible advisory model designed specifically for automotive businesses.
Today, MBAC serves dealerships throughout the United States, helping clients improve financial visibility, strengthen operations, and make better-informed business decisions.
Chad resides in the Kansas City area with his wife, two sons, and two daughters. Outside of his professional responsibilities, he enjoys spending time with his family and remains actively involved in supporting dealership owners and operators throughout the automotive industry.
